Properly trained and conditioned, and of course wearing proper protective clothing, SCP-734 could be a Foundation agent. The Foundation has the opportunity to shape this kid's behavior almost from the ground up. Its anomalous properties, i.e. killing you when you touch it, are simple and easily controlled.

SCP-239 accidentally created an uncontainable SCP, and has pre-exiting personality traits that could be a major problem. Whether or not her danger is due to malicious intent is utterly irrelevant. It's a reality bender that causes mayhem except in carefully controlled circumstances.

tl;dr Different SCPs receive different treatment because they are different¹, and their intentions or lack thereof are utterly irrelevant. Your logic does not hold even if these are in the same canon.

239 is not real. The Foundation's multi-canon is fluid and inconsistent. 239 does not necessarily exist within the same canon as this. 239 is not real. Stop acting like these things are real. Comment on the writing, comment on the idea, step on the other side of the fourth wall and look at it from a writer's perspective and just stop fangirling, for heaven's sake.

Oh, so this kid - who is naturally lethal just to touch - could be raised to be a Foundation Agent, but sweet, innocent little Sigurrós - who is not dangerous solely by virtue of what she is, and besides which would never hurt anyone on purpose - deserves to be in a drug-induced coma for the rest of her life?!? Fucking Foundation bastards… >:(

Apart from that being a necropost (this article dates back to 2009, and the last comment was two years ago in 2010), the Foundation's involvement / relationship with various militaries is highly subject to individual headcanon. Though some see minimal involvement with militaries, others see close involvement. I kinda doubt Gears is going to change a positively rated article just because.

Remove military research and it'll be a plyss from me. The Foundation is an independent, international organization and I feel that it hasn't got any ties to the military. Other than that it's a damn good read.

Probably not a bad idea…myself, I always thought it was some sort of "reaction" to the outside atmosphere…like hives, but it makes people melt. This also creates a slightly chilling idea: one of the first things they do after the baby is born is lay it on the mother's chest.

Personally, I'd like to see some kind of future time line where SCP-734 is all grown up. Well-educated, fiercely loyal, and very deadly, I can see him being one of the big Agents for The Foundation…always in gloves, gas mask, and special suit.

Just a theory, but perhaps the reason the mother was unaffected by SCP-734's powers is because of the lining of mucus and fluids in the womb. Anyone think this would make sense?

Some SCP have a "mental lure" of some kind…this one just uses the fact that it's a baby, and a lot of people have a compulsion to touch or play with them. God, imagine if someone kissed him…
