the only real objection to this i feel is that, in a way, it is an attempt at moving toward "canon", by granting legitimacy to those articles where people expunged information inappropriately, giving an "in character" explanation for that phenomenon.

On the one hand, everyone's going to like this because it's timely and scathing and a great example of how to be meta.

A year ago, when the only "meta" (not in traditional, but in described in tag guide sense) articles were The Toaster and The Pope and The Plague and The Bowl, I could've maybe possibly upvoted this. Actually, no, four times is stretching it already.

Now we have The Printer and The Minotaur and I think there were more in 1000+ block.

And, another thing. The "there is this whole different version of scprocedures and description in the collapsible" thing. Zachary did it, and it was mostly alright. Then Bugsy did it, and it was done clumsy in my opinion, but I forgive Bugsy because he is so cute I just want to hug him. Now, I really don't want to see anything else try to do it again. Two times was more than enough, thank you. It is formulaic, predictable, and, once you've seen it one time, really not interesting anymore.

So, back to this article. It have the overdone "meta" thing, overdone "another document" thing, and memetics, which are totally new and interesting.

Also, I knew every word of this article after reading the title. Every damn word. That shouldn't happen, ever.

And maybe I am just bitter because once upon a time every page I've read here held a wonder of new idea, sick, twisted idea that I could've never read anywhere else, and which would never come into my head on its own. And maybe that's just a natural evolution of the site, from few precious gems into the field of glass shards. And if that's the case, I'll go and write a skip about a sphere that liquidizes the bones of everyone in a kilometer radius, because that's a very dangerous thing that should obviously be contained by the Foundation.

Though honestly, my initial thought on it was "Don't attribute to an SCP what can be attributed to simple human stupidity". It just feels like, as a meta thing, many similar things have been done before.

If it's a straight up main list item it just feels like tomorrow the Foundation is going to be containing a set of male/female icons from bathroom doors and doing experiments about how men will always go into the Men's door and women always go into the Women's and never vice versa even if they lead into a functionally identical bathroom. OH MY GOD. And… and then D-121iu1o2192i will sneak into the Women's room instead and he will be vivisected to discover how he is immune to the memetic compulsion…
