SCP Foundation

I created a draft for one of the SCP concepts I made before getting my application accepted, and I would like to have some general opinions directed at it so I can make some changes before running it to the veterans.

Conceptually the biggest issue with this is that it's almost identical to SCP-2006. This lacks the kind of twist that article has - 2006 needs to be shown horror movies, but bad ones, so that he doesn't make the connection between fear and hurting people and start turning into things that are really dangerous. This article would need something like that of its own to give a sense of suspense and purpose to the whole thing. Right now it's only about this shapeshifting guy liking horror movies and being friendly, which just isn't interesting.

Unfortunately SCP-2006 is a really well known article and is so fundamentally similar to this one that I don't think you're going to be able to avoid the comparison without starting completely over and making this different from the ground up.

I agree with fieldstone - there are a lot of shapeshifting nightmare demons already on the site, and after reading both articles I can concur that apart from being humanoid instead of spherical it is basically SCP-2006.

The idea in itself wasn't a bad one, it's just one that has already been used to great effect on the site and would look like a copy. Perhaps there are some changes you can make to create something that feels new? Does it have to be a paranormal horror enthusiast, for instance?
