Ok, new idea. Had this for a while. A creature which if in offensive can attack you by knowing your position by transferring your consciousnesses to an alternate realities body where you are now in the room with the scp, however it has now been made perfectly matched to fight you. At which point the new version of the scp will kill you & the first scp will transfer your now dead consciousnesses into your original body causing you to slump to the floor, dead. Cool?
Hello,
I'm sure your idea is good, its just I can't quite understand it. Try using an app like Grammarly, as expressed on the info of the site.
From what I did gather, it seems kind of cliche. Morphing into other things is done a lot, and so are things with memories and "alternate realities" as you put it. However, the transferring-of-consciousness idea could be turned into something interesting if done correctly.
A creature which if in offensive & able to locate your position it can attack. It will proceed to transfer your consciousnesses to an alternate reality version of your body. You will now be in the same room as the scp however you will soon come to notice it can perfectly outmatch you. It will proceed to kill you at which point & the original will transfer you back to your host body. To an outsider you appear to suddenly flat-line without warning.
Any more readable?
I just came up with a great alternative! Upon attacking instead of warping your consciousness to another you it can transfer your consciousness with another person. Except this person is currently being attacked by another scp. All known deaths due to scp's show this transaction has happened, every time.
DerpyBat, as per the Forum Guidelines, please do not bump threads. It is spammy and unfair to other users who are patiently waiting for criticism.
If you would like to add more information to your idea, the original thread, thread title, and thread description can be edited to reflect these updates. The content of your original post can be edited by choosing "Options" at the bottom right of the post, and then choosing "Edit" from the list of options that appears. Your title and thread summary can be updated by choosing the "More Options" button by the top right of the page, and then choosing the "Edit Title and Description" option.
Please take care to do this in the future.
oof, ok sure, should i amalgamate all of the 'bumps' with the original post or just leave it now?
What's done is done, so no worries. Just make sure to edit your threads in the future is all!
This far, this idea is new for me.
I don't really understand some sentences you wrote, but here is what i understand:
- The SCP exists in the same dimension of its prey
- The anomalous property of the SCP is being able to transfer the conciousness of the prey to another dimension, and put them in a soulless body in said dimension that is incapable to fight the current dimension version body of the SCP (and the SCP's consciousness is inside that body), inside a room. Also you proposed an alternative that the conciousness is swapped between the current person and other person that is being endangered by, specifically, an instance of an SCP.
- If you fail to fight that SCP, you will be retransferred to your original body in your original dimension, in a state that your consciousness is dead despite your original body's vitality
- The time in the original 'stops' while the fight in the other dimension occurs
Am I understanding your idea correctly? if i do, i have some question and suggestion about it.
- What if the SCP lose to you in said dimension? are you permanent in that dimension? Is it even possible to beat the SCP in the first place?
- About the latest alternative, i think i liked the idea more, and i even think that is a good premise of a tale. However, i have three question about this. 1) Why swap? Does it give any pleasure to your SCP? 2) Only if the condition guarantees both person will die anyway, how does the foundation knows your SCP swapped conciousness between two people when both of them died? 3) Why it has to be specifically an SCP for the alternative idea? how about just general danger? for example, when you are about being attacked (and killed) by that SCP, you'll switch consciousness to a person that is falling from a building so what you experienced is death by falling, not by that SCP. Conversely, the original person that fall will experience the death by the brutal attacks of the SCP. That idea seems even makes more sense because the person probably still can escape the death from the SCP, then he/she tell the story, then caught the foundation attention.
- How in earth this SCP is contained tho? this must be considered keter. I have a suggestion if you plotted to make the foundation is somehow able to contain this SCP: 1) The SCP is contained in a soundproof room, the doors and windows are tight so no gas or other matter can go outside and inside the room (unless a door is openend), and the glass is one-way so only less than % photon would go inside the observer's room. Also an airlock is suggested. Why, you asked? because your SCP can start the 'consciousness transfer' procedure once it knows your location; 2) The SCP is contained in a room inside of room, so the outer room prevents any conscious human being to be in the SCP's 'consciousness transfer' procedure proximity range.
So, far that's what i can think about. also, if you wish please critique my SCP idea too that is being brainstormed in this forum ^_^
Please collapse long posts. Also, don't advertise your own draft in threads that aren't yours ~ Staff
My response: Thanks for the warning, i will try not to do the same thing again in the future
Crippling depression is not an anomaly, please, i am normal with that.
Umm, you have understood a good portion I may be misinterpreting what you are saying, but you'r mind & the mind of the parallel you are swapped. Present you will now be face to face with the same scp except it is now able to perfectly outmatch you. When you die it then renters you, seeing as you are stuck in the room with the scp no subjects have been able to escape attack as of far. If you survive attack you will be returned & the scp will simply 'give up'. It is unknown why it does not pursue. As far as your listed questions go:
1) The scp doesn't appear to wan't to put itself in danger of a fight & why fight at all when it can send you across to the 'optimised' version where it is much more likely to succeed in such attack.
2) Through the few who have survived any attacks & also a sudden change of emotions has been noticed backing up people who survived's tales. Before the foundation found any survivors they did believe this scp's anomalous properties only went as far as suddenly killing those it knew the presence of.
3) For the alternate idea, I thought it would be interesting if this scp could be the cause of all scp - related deaths. It would bring a lot of depth to this scp's story. As far as why it would do this, it is unknown by the foundation, however if you want some reasonable concepts why mabie it can only transfer to those who are close to another scp, or it couldn't care less if you knew.
As far as your containment concepts go, this is a great idea for containment, it does contain some of my pre-conceptual ideas of how it could be contained (soundproof walls, I was originally thinking no windows at all but cameras, however one way glass could work better). Your concept of containment does go into higher detail than my pre-conceptual thoughts so this has been very helpful. Thanks
