I enjoyed how, rather than trying to be another origin story, this proposal explored the myth of the 001 slot itself, but there are some issues that keep me from completely supporting this. I'm not sure I could see anyone at the Foundation tampering with the database in such a way as Nakayama did in the first place, even for something that was meant to be a harmless joke, and I'm not sure I can buy one Site Director gaining approval for exclusive access to an article for themselves and the Overseers.
Contrary to what Mulciber said, I think the personal history given in the final note saves the character from becoming abstruse. If she just left a vague message about having good intentions, it would seem like a very transparent attempt at keeping her from looking selfish. I'm not necessarily saying she's justified in her actions or that her backstory makes her a better person, just that it's a legitimate reason for why she did what she did. My main problem is that it's thrown at us at the very end. The character I'm okay with, the execution not quite as much. Not sure how to satisfying characterize her in this particular article, however.
tl;dr I liked the idea, but certain details and choices in execution keep me from fully supporting this. No vote.
