The idea here is a spirit of a gambler that takes forms of slot machines, poker cards, dice, etc. When the player is done with using the said object, the spirit will then show himself to the player if he desires. The spirit will then take physical form of his former self and challenge the player to a game of poker. When playing, the spirit will analyze their moves to discover whether they have been a fair player in the past or not. If the spirit sees the player has been a fair one, the spirit will shake hands with the person and erase their memories of himself. If the spirit discovers that the player has been a swindler, he will let the player win and give them a treasured card which he will take the form of when the player leaves.
While the player is asleep, the card will then transform into the spirit and he will then transport himself into the player's subconscious. The player in their subconscious will then be in a circus setting hooked up onto the Wheel of Death. The spirit will appear in front of the wheel blindfolded, and turns the card he gave them into a knife. While the wheel spins, if the spirit can see the player truly wants to change their bad habits, he will throw the knife and the player will wake up. When the player wakes up, they will discover that any winnings from gambling will be gone and he will give them a chance to start over. Now if the spirit can see the player is lying and does not truly want to correct their wrongs, he will peek from the blindfold and throw the knife at the player's forehead. Right when it hits, the player will wake up and discover everything will be gone. Their possessions, winnings, even people's memories of them will be gone, however, the spirit still gives them a chance to start over. The reason why the spirit does this to people is because he wants to teach them a lesson in order to not end up like he did.
The spirit's backstory goes as he was a swindler when it came to chance. He would tamper with the slot machines to get triple 7s on every slot machine etc. He eventually fell head over heels over a card dealer when playing poker. That card he gives the player and uses as a knife is the first card the dealer dealt him in the game. He eventually got to involved in his hobby that he started looking towards the mafia for money when people have been catching on and took measures to ensure there would be no cheaters. He eventually lost his touch and went into extreme debt. The mafia was getting on his case about the money he owed them and started taking everything he owned to get some of the money back. His wife, the card dealer eventually left him because even after debt, he was still gambling his life away, giving no attention to her and refusing to accept help. Even after taking everything he had, the mafia still didn't have all the money he owed them. Furious, they ended up taking him out. They covered up everything about the murder saying he "went missing". The gambler now spends his days as a spirit and tries to do anything he can to help people avoid the same mistakes he made.
I was hoping if I could get some feedback on this idea and whether I should go for it or not. Any improvements to be made is more than helpful to me. Thank you for your input in advance.
