Just wanted to drop a message to say thank you for my recent admission into the ranks of the SCP Foundation. I have been avidly reading the SCP Series and Library, and I feel that I can make considerable contributions to the Series and "creep" writing in general.
I'm happy that I stumbled into this Wiki from reddit.com, it is very cool to see such creativity and talent go into a thing like this. I have read the entire Series and am quite impressed by the "clinical" tone and detail that goes into each object. The lab notes and journal entries are well done too, and I'd like to add to them when I get the chance, which will probably be very soon. The overall creep factor is good, as I've literally dreamed dreams of being in some strange research lab poking strange things and then running away later, haha.
Some ideas that I want to share for possible inclusion into the Series:
- "Advanced Simulacra" - Technologically advanced VR system which interfaces directly with the brain. Idea would include Muon particles, computing bordering on AI, and existential consequences. I'd like to tie it as an object found within scp-110, if at all possible.
- "Random Calculator" - Victorian era/steampunk crank powered box which can (with apparently 100% accuracy) predict the next occurrence of random 3 digit numbers. Possible effects would be predicting lottery results, and influencing radioactive breakdown.
- "Yawning death" - Contagious disease which makes people yawn so wide and so long that either their lungs burst, or their jaw breaks and throat collapses.
And others I'm sure.. that's just a few ideas I had floating in my mind while reading over the wiki. I would like to invoke some more cthulhuish/ghost story ideas, but I've always been a Sci-Fi writer more than horror. I do read copious amounts of both though.
Anyway, just wanted to drop in and say "Hey!"
