Hello. I'm new here, and was wondering about an idea I had. I posted it in the chat, but all I got was a comparison to an existing SCP. Now, keep in mind, I've never written an SCP before, nor have I read very many, so I'm not sure what works and what doesn't. I plan to read some, and try to brainstorm from there. Also please keep in mind, I came up with this idea before I even joined the site, and it is one of the reasons that I joined.
Also, I realize -Js are harder to write. I get that. I expect a lot of criticism, but I'm hoping to get help to make an idea of mine work.
One more thing, I'm sorry this introduction has been so long, I'm a wordy person. It's just who I am.
Anyway, my idea is this…
The "tree". Basically, it looks like a tree, but due to copious amounts of research, the staff has determined that it isn't. They're not sure what it is, all they know is that it's not a tree. It doesn't have any notable magical or supernatural properties, so containment is simple, but caution is given when around it anyway, just in case. An O5 has said, "I know paranoia is in the job description, but you're taking it a bit too far. It's probably just a tree."
Now, it's been brought to my attention that SCP-55 is similar to this, but, in my opinion, this differs enough to be its own story. Not just in being a joke, but also in that it actually has a visible, identifiable visual form.
Thanks for reading through this, and have a nice day.
