SCP Foundation

Hello everyone, newbie here, of sorts, at least to having an account on here i am a newbie, it's a huge pleasure i was able to be approved, and can't wait to get started here.

But how about an intro first.

My alias online is primarily Kritlekro, it's what i go by almost everywhere, i've been writing since give or take '08 but only recently did i decide to step away from role playing small stories with friends to actual writing, but i still like to think that even the role playing helped me develop a love for writing, and as such, been writing since '08.
I came into contact with the SCP foundation in about 2011-2012, can't remember specifics. A friend of mine had linked in a chat room i frequented the page for SCP-513, and since then I've been on and off reading SCPs, finding them pretty interesting.
Decided I would give a shot at joining you guys to maybe practice my writing, and get more into SCPs, so far I've only been casually lurking but, hopefully i can hit the ground running and start working on stuff, SCP or tales, either is fine by me.
As far as concerns, i fear simply failing to make a good article or tale, seeing as how well, my overall SCP "lore" knowledge is well, kind of small.

But still more than happy to be here, thank you once more.

If you'd like to write for the site, make a sandbox page for yourself, and get any drafts you write up there shown to the IRC chat and/or the drafts forums for feedback prior to a mainsite post.

You can also hang out in chat to get a feel for the critique given there (it's all real-time, but you can always private message someone to get one-on-one critique that's not drowned out by the idle chatting going on) and just get to know the other chatters.

So far as site lore goes, if you have questions about a particular SCP, you can post in the discussion thread linked at the bottom of the SCP article page (click "Discuss"). Any questions about the Foundation and/or the Foundation'verse in general can be asked in the Foundation Universe forum, and discussion about the writing process itself takes place in General Advice.

If you're looking for SCPs that are a good example of current site standards, I recommend reading the high-rated Series II and III articles (SCPs with numbers from 1000 to 2999). There are many inspirational articles in Series I, but articles written four or more years ago are less likely to be up to current community expectations, even if they've got a lot of upvotes. Remember to pay attention to how old an article is when deciding if you'll use it as a guide or not; you can (and should!) check article age by clicking the "History" link at the bottom of a page, and looking for the page creation date.
