When editing my Sandbox page, a message flashed on my screen for a fraction of a second. I couldn't read all of it, but it said something like "This edit has been (forcibly) removed."
What happened? Did I break a rule? Did I somehow mess with the sites internal magic machines? Did I accidentally type a memetic kill code?

Most likely, someone else was trying to edit the page and forcibly removed your edit lock, or maybe an errant refresh happened, or some other conflict of page edit occurred.

I don't think you broke a rule, unless you were editing a page that didn't belong to you.

I don't think you messed with the sandbox site's mechanics, since people edit sandboxes all the time.

There is no such thing as a memetic kill code. Shhh.
