Item #: SCP-699
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-699 naturally follows human beings and will remain in containment so long as it is only exposed to SCP personnel. SCP-699 is currently contained within Sector-███. Any Sector-███ personnel under the effects of SCP-699 are not to leave the facility until SCP-699 has moved on to a different host, to prevent it from being passed on to non-personnel.
SCP-699 is a force or entity which will attach itself to a host and proceed to follow the host for some time, ranging from hours to weeks. SCP-699 itself is undetectable, but the effects it has on a host are unmistakable.
Any subject playing host to SCP-699 will find themself surrounded by generic television sitcom-style audience reactions at any time when some event occurs which would warrant a reaction. For example, when a host falls or is hurt, the host and those around them will usually hear an audience's laughter. Similar effects are generated when the host is angry or showing emotion, with the audience responding with "oooohs," applause, and other reactions.
After following its host for some time, SCP-699 will move on to a different host. The new host is usually someone nearby, but SCP-699 has been seen moving to new personnel separated by numerous walls and hundreds of meters. There is currently no known way of separating SCP-699 from its host, or preventing it from jumping to a new host.
Careful observation has shown that hosts will often be the subject of "pratfalls" and minor injuries far more often than normally occurs. Any personnel affected by SCP-699 are advised to be cautious, but should also be aware that SCP-699 has yet to cause death or significant harm to any of its hosts.
