I'm looking for feedback and suggestions on my concept. The basis of which is detailed in the summary. What I'm having difficulty with is how the smog affects humans. Currently I'm wanting to paint the smog as cold, emotionless, without a complex sense of consciousness, and a slave to instinct. This is because I believe the inability to reason with something presents a unique type of fear. As such I want the affect on humans to coincide with this, but so far nothing I've thought of seems to fit.
Currently I have that the smog would primarily alter or influence the mind and consciousness of humans. Melding with the consciousness or unconsciousness without awareness. This could include altering memories or taking control during sleep. Memory alteration I've noticed has been done before, but sleep control I'm unsure.
Psychological Affects - Elimination of fear regarding the smog. Affinity toward the smog and desire to expose others. Violent tendencies in response to resistance when attempting to expose others. Hysteria involved with immoral or random acts. Hallucinations and state of euphoria when inside the smog.
Of the psychological affects the one I'm most supportive of is the erase of fear regarding the smog. Fear is a mechanism of caution and prevents exposure to the smog. I believe removing this will instill a sense of vulnerability. As a point of reference I'm aiming to have the smog relate to Jack the Ripper and London history.
