SCP Foundation

Hey, we're trying to figure how does a typical member, or an official from the Horizon Initiative look; the reason is that we'd like to include a playable character from each of the GOIs in the SCP Board game Escape from site 19 (more here - goo.gl/roKPUU), but we've sort of ran out of ideas for HI.

A major thing about the GOI is that it is a mix of the three abrahamic religions - and thus you cannot go in one direction of the typical religious officials' garb without abandoning the two other. How do you imagine a typical HI member? Or an important figure? I'd be very grateful for any and all ideas that you guys might have.

A typical agent would probably be a normal-looking person of pretty much any ethnicity dressed in trousers and a button-up shirt and/or jacket with no tie. Not a big fan of "men-as-default," but that would probably be the best way to go in this case, as the dress requirements for women can vary significantly by religion and sect.

e: Probably also a well-ish-kept beard.

I'm imagining something pretty similar to what Gaffney suggested, except maybe wearing a tactical vest or something over the button-down shirt. (Sort of like "heavily armed Mormon missionaries," now that I think about it.) Important figure-wise, I'd imagine that their leadership is a mixture of religious figures from the various faiths and wealthy and/or influential benefactors.

The leaders of the HI are one higher-up from each main faith it represents, so you could probably give them full religious garb, possibly with the HI logo given prominence in the outfit's symbology. Same for the lower level leaders.

I do feel a typical member would probably look like an average joe in business casual, like Gaffney says, but with just a hint or two that they are otherwise. A lapel pin with the logo, a ritual dagger hanging from their belt loop, a copy of the latest edition of the New Path in their hand…

Find a random goes-to-Church/Temple/the Mosque-every-Sunday type dude or gal. Now imagine how they'd dress if they were handed a rifle (or more symbolic weapon) and told they were fighting, quite literally, in the name of God.

That's the Horizon Initiative. That is literally the Horizon Initiative at its very core. So they'd probably dress fairly nicely and traditionally if they were going to a formal occasion, but more pragmatically if they were blowing demons up. I don't live anywhere near any Mosques, so I don't know any Muslims, but I imagine at least a few of them have no issue wearing blue jeans to a work site or whatever, so yeah.
