Hello folks. Joe here. Er, I had a bit of temp work with the Foundation about a year ago and wrote up a report on some strange lighthouses, SCP-490 I think they were called. Was a bit rough around the edges, but they didn't fire me. Looks like you all moved to a new place then? Looks nice. I'm still just lookin' around, don't mind me.
Welcome back, son. Certainly been the season for oldfags to return.
Looking forward to the revamped 490, and hoping you'll stick around for a good long while, eh.
Gotta know though, do you like the new site better than the old one? I know I have fond memories.
Not sure really. I like the functionality, but it seems a little… happy? I dunno. I imagined a creepy too-official-looking site, but that might be cheesy.
Yeah hoping to stick around, just finished a big work-related online course so a bit more time now. Gearing up to have a crack at writing a book in the summer, so getting back into a creative place should be nice practice.
We've been tossing around ideas for making it creepier/more serious-looking, while maintaining the accessibility. There's a thread or two on the forums for it somewhere, I believe. I think Gears was the guy who popped the best idea, but I can't remember for the life of me what it was, eh.
Should throw up a piece or two in the library, if you've got the time. Always good practice for longer fiction.
The happy thing is… somewhat (majorly) my fault I'd say. What can I can I say? I'd rather an amalgamation of creepy, happy and whatever, than something solidly creepy. Besides, this way we scare off the weirdos.
Anyway, nice to hear from ya kiddo.
Realism and accessibility seem to combat each other at times, in regards to this site. My idea was to create a dummy login page, with the wiki "hidden" behind it…granted, this was devised in regards to a idea dealing with a Alternate Reality Game, but still, it seems like a good idea…
Being as i have no web design skill, this will probably remain just a good idea…in any event, welcome back, i hope you enjoy your time here!
