Looking for critique on the SCP draft in the third tab of my sandbox. Anything is appreciated, though I'm specifically looking for feedback on the Recovery Log, if the link is appropriate. Thank you very much!
I'll admit that I know next-to-nothing about physics (anymore, I guess - I used to) but the energy conversion concepts seem incredibly wonky in this. Let me get this straight, because I'm having some trouble comprehending: If it's used, it sucks up all the energy and matter in the area, often killing people and dropping the room temperature to 0 Kelvin, but if it's not used, it builds up energy and explodes? I get why it's Keter, then, but how are the containment procedures enough when it's just one thorium reactor providing some energy to the whole situation (somehow - really not clear on how that's working based only on what's in the containment procedures) and a D-class using it as toilet paper thrice a day? I thought that, when used, it sucked up all the energy and matter in the room and whatnot. Or is the trick that it has to be fewer than ten sheets being used in order to keep things safe?
As far as the recovery log goes, the rest of the article is ten times more engrossing. This concept is something I could see working with a little scientific elaboration and brushing up, but the ol' "it came from 914" thing is, in my opinion, far too generic for this.
Ahh, the idea is that it sucks up the heat energy in the area. By having the thorium reactor thermally connected to the housing of the TP, it can suck up the heat output of the reactor instead of killing everything by freezing. Maybe I need to elaborate on how well it's thermally connected to the reactor.
As for the recovery log, yeah, I thought that "it came from 914" would add some depth, be it does seem cliche in retrospect. The idea is that someone attempted to make an infinite roll of toilet paper without grasping just how nasty mass/energy conversion is. Thanks for the feedback!
