Better site layout (Aesthetics) - 94
Wikidot is actually pretty friendly when it comes to using custom layouts and other css things. The trouble is that there aren't any professional web-designers volunteering their time and skills to make it happen. Which, I'm not blaming them for. It's a lot of work, and I fully expect a lot of people to be unhappy with the result no matter what it is. "better layout" may mean vastly different things to different people, and other people just want things to stay the same.
If someone would come to us and offer to make a better layout for us, I'm sure we'd at least listen to them, and implement it if it was good.
Easier/intuitive site navigation/search - 71
Navigation is mostly dependent on the above point. The other issue is that wikidot doesn't know the difference between a skip and any other page, so you can't have a purely wikidot-native "next scp" button for example.
Also don't expect better search while we're on wikidot. We can't change anything there. For chat-goers, jarvis provides a pretty powerful search command. For others, I suggest google with site:scp-wiki.net.
Mobile friendly / SCP app - 39
I can't tell anything about this, because I don't know anything about this.
Get off Wikidot - 23
No one is currently actively working on this. I wouldn't expect it any time soon.
Put name of SCP in title - 16
Caaaaaan do! Technically, this is trivial to do, and can be done in under an hour. The issue is convincing everyone that this is something that needs to be done. I'll poke staff about it again.
Previous and Next buttons while browsing - 14
There are userscript / greasemonkey options for this, but no possibility for anything wikidot-native, as I outlined above.
Random SCP/Tale doesn't work or takes too long - 13
If anyone who has this issue can find me in chat, I'll try to figure out what goes wrong. But in general the current implementation of random scp/tale pages is likely to stay. The previous implementation suffered from being limited to on refresh per minute, and inability to vote directly on the page. The current way is likely the best we can do while still on wikidot.
Also, once more, chat-goers have access to a separate and much more powerful random command via jarvis.
A way to track which SCPs have been read already - 11
Not on wikidot.
Clean up forums - 5
Technically trivial, so purely an administrative issue. Let staff know if there's anything in particular you want to see changed about forums.
Tag tales with their SCPs - 4
This has been discussed multiple times in the past, and is agreed to be a bad idea. Having 3000 additional tags would be a nightmare to maintain. There have been other discussions about way to do something similar via backlinks, but none of the solutions gained much ground.
Hide images by default or give the option - 4
Can be done via userstyles. However, given that there's relatively few people asking for this, I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader.
Display author at bottom of page - 3
Already displayed via history. If you need more certainty or to know about rewrite or collaborations, come to irc and ask jarvis.
Sort pages by views or display page views - 2
Not possible on wikidot.
Streamline author communication - 2
I don't know what that means. Most seasoned authors are also irc regulars and talk to each other all the time.
Ability to upvote/downvote comments - 2
Yeah, I'd like this too. Not possible while on wikidot.
Thumbnails of SCP image on lists - 2
Actually you can probably do something like this via ListPages and %preview% ? Not sure, haven't checked. Doesn't sound to me like that good of an idea anyway.
Notifications for authors when article has been commented on - 2
Not possible while on wikidot.
Specific tags page - 1
Is this a request for adding a specific tag, or for our tags to be more specific? Either way, send me a message with a detailed proposal, and I'll reply to it specifically.
Want a neutral vote option on the rating module - 1
Yeah, everyone wants that. Not possible while on wikidot.
Show the site's analytic data - 1
I think someone has that, but not sure who. I'll ask around.
Ability to rate articles after a time after joining - 1
Not possible while on wikidot, and also a bad idea.
Individual ranking outside of karma - 1
Well, there's authors' total net vote counts, if you're into that?
Want nested collapsible - 1
Not possible while on wikidot, unless you use some super complicated javascript iframes, which inevitably lag a lot and look horrible.
Hide author name until after voting - 1
They aren't show on the page anyway? Also, why?
Sort tag results by rating - 1
Possible, buy you'll have to be more specific about what "tag results" are and where you're looking at them.
Remove votes of inactive users - 1
Not possible while on wikidot, and also a bad idea.
Add a changelog - 1
???
Have the Recently Edited Page show the page ratings - 1
Nah.
