Got too excited, posted this, and then got pointed here.
I've already gotten a few pointers re: this. (It should be considered safe not Keter, not using clinical language in portions, not using metric system, poor choice of containment procedures).

So basically I want to rewrite/rework this so it makes more sense and fits in better. One of the things brought up in the original post's discussion section was "Why does it decay/rust metal but not destroy glass?" - I wanted an angle where the tree had anomalous properties so it couldn't be understood why it would decay mostly everything save for some kinds of soil and glass. But a better way of containing it… I'm open to suggestions. Someone said fence in the comments but again, trying to find a way that makes sense with the tree/it's abilities, a big thing being if leaves become detached they still hold decaying properties within a certain radius (unless exposed to temps way below freezing).
I was encouraged that people seemed to like the idea so I want to rework it. I'm all ears.
