Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-NNN is contained in a standard 10m x 10m x 10m concrete-walled chamber. Personnel are requested to remain at least fifteen (15) meters from the contaiment chamber if possible.
Description: SCP-NNN-1 is a wrought-iron hook, measuring thirty-five (35) cm in length and twenty-one (21) cm at the widest point. The hook is extremely corroded and blunted. Its state of decay, combined with its crude construction, indicates that SCP-NNN is not of modern manufacture. Large amounts of dried blood were cleaned from the hook by high-pressure hose from a distance of fifteen meters upon acquisition by the Foundation in 19XX.
SCP-NNN-2 is the rope to which SCP-NNN-1 is fastened. It appears to be reddish-brown hemp cord under casual observation, but analysis shows that the rope is in fact composed of the spun flesh and sinew of the hook's victims. SCP-NNN is capable of fusing its free end to concrete, steel, wood, or any other rigid surface through a very powerful adhesive.
SCP-NNN reacts to the presence of medium to large (>20 kg) living creatures in proportion to their distance, and is considered dangerous to humans out to fifty (50) meters. As a subject approaches, SCP-NNN-1 experiences a force pulling it in his or her direction. SCP-NNN-2 is generally stretched taut by the time the hook is within fifteen (15) meters of the subject, with the force approaching four-thousand (4000) Newtons at a distance of one (1) meter. When SCP-NNN-2 fails through stress, rot or any other cause (e.g. deliberate severing), the hook continues in the direction of the subject and collides violently. Though the hook is extremely blunt and seldom connects point-first, the force of the collision and continued pressure are sufficient for the entirety of SCP-NNN-1 to perforate and pass through the subject within five to ten seconds. Upon emerging from the other side, SCP-NNN pulls along with it a substantial amount of the subject's flesh which rapidly spins itself into a fresh rope through an unknown mechanism. The end of the rope adheres to the first available rigid surface, usually the floor of the containment chamber.
The hook's "sense" of living creatures is not hampered by the concrete of its containment chamber, and will occasionally collide with the walls as it attempts to reach subjects outside. Only SCP-148 ("Telekill") has been proven effective at dampening the reaction of SCP-NNN.
Addendum: SCP-NNN was discovered in a warehouse in the abandoned town of XXXXXXX, France. SCP-NNN came to the Foundation's attention after a number of local youths went missing during exploration of the village. Agents XXX, XXXX, XXXX and Doctor XXXXXX died during retrieval.
