Hello, everyone! First off, I'd like to thank everyone who supports this community, its members, and makes it possible to enjoy the awesome talents of those who write here.
I'm a pilot and flight instructor-in-training (not that it really matters, but still cool right?) and also enjoy music, reading, and occasionally writing in my spare time. I found this community back in January 2012 after reading SCP-173 and have been following the site ever since. What really got me hooked on this site was the concept of an SCP article and its ability to vividly describe something through the use of clinical tone. It makes the SCPs themselves seem much more real, and also lets the imagination work in ways which are often restricted by other types of writing. (Don't get me wrong; the Foundation tales are awesome too! It's just that I like SCP articles the best.)
As a new member, I want to initially support the site by giving constructive criticism and feedback, responsibly voting, and helping new members after gaining some experience. Seeing as I took a break from writing works of fiction to focus on flight training and college, the last thing I want to do is jump in the deep end and accidentally write an overpowered SCP, an SCP that is merely a magical item, or just poor writing (SCPs or tales) in general. Eventually I'll get around to making a sandbox page and throw something up there, or maybe on the draft forums.
Anyhow, that's all I've got to say for now. Thanks again!
