Hello, my name is Agrotis. I am a normal human, and not a moth attracted to LCD screens, going from key to key.
I discovered the Foundation Wiki many years ago when I was linked to the article for SCP-261 (Pan-Dimensional Vending). I didn't really understand it at the time, and just thought it was a neat thing someone wrote online, and didn't think much about it. That is, until I happened across the image for it again a few months ago, and rediscovered the wiki. I was worried about joining for a while, and only at the urging of a close friend I finally built up the confidence to post here.
I have a decent amount of experience in editing and writing—I've interned at a few local magazines in the town of [REDACTED] (one of which being a paranormal experiences essay magazine, which was kind of silly, but enjoyable). I would like to try to help improve others' writing on here, and also contribute my own SCPs to the site. My interests are mainly Japanese history, philosophy (I like Schopenhauer and Wittgenstein), foreign language, and cladistics/taxonomy. I'm semi-fluent in Japanese (been studying for ~5 years) and French (studied for 6 years, but haven't used it in a few years, so I'm probably really rusty).
I've been slowly working my way through the SCP entries, though I am still in Series I. If anyone has recommendations for essential Series II and III readings, please let me know, as it would be more helpful for me to base criteria on more recent entries to the site rather than outdated ones. I guess this is getting kind of long, but thanks for taking the time to read this, if you did.
