Hello all. I've been lurking on the site for what feels like several months now. I originally found the site through a post on 4chan and I haven't been able to tear myself away from it since. Right now I'm trying to learn as much about the SCP universe and it's canon as I possibly can. I'm a bit of an information sponge so I'm able to retain all of this fairly well. My ultimate goal here is to eventually write for the site, my primary focus being on contributing new SCPs. I think where I'm going to have the most trouble is formatting as I have no problems on the creative end. If anyone has any suggestions for an eager newbie, please let me know!
If you'd like to learn about the Foundation'verse, consider taking a look at some of the essays and guides we have on the subject in the Guide Hub. The best way to learn here is to read! Also, consider checking out the corresponding discussion threads for those pages as well—not everyone has the exact same view of how the Foundation operates. So long as something is well-written and liked enough, it'll stay on the site, and that can be someone's canon if they wish it so.
Formatting-wise, you should be fine if you read the How to Write an SCP Guide and work things out in a sandbox page before a mainsite post. Remember to get feedback from the IRC chat and/or the drafts forums before putting your work onto the site!
