I would love it if you guys could check out my scp and help me out. Thanks.
This is interesting. My only thought is the photograph - it would be better if there was a black band across the eyes or a bit of pixelation… Something to keep a bit of mystery.
It's kind of like showing a full shot of the "monster" at the start of the film.
Aside from that, though it was a very clever idea - it read well.
Right - had more (way more than needed TBH) coffee, looked at it again.
Thinking about the basics here…. The core of SCP, secure contain & protect is in force on the SCP article.
There was one thing that did stick in my mind.
The other side of SCP foundation. Cold but not Cruel.
On that basis, I considered the difference between something cold and cruel.
The difference can be very slight…
Yesterday, I eradicated with extreme prejudice a creature much less than 800 times smaller than me. I crushed it to death… barbaric.
However, the creature in question was a mosquito - I DON'T respond well to being bitten by insects in general (local swelling, itching and sore)….It had to go.
And therein lies the rub. Is it really cruel to eliminate a sapient OR sentient abnormality that could bring humanity to it's knees if that entity had a bad day…or simply cold?
-DISREGARD: reason repetition-
Parasite Unit, instead of posting multiple comments in succession, please edit your previous post using the "edit" function under the "options" tab to the lower right of every comment. That prevents spam buildup, and it's in the rules.
As per request, I have done that and aggregate the two comments into one. However, now there are two entries of mine with the same section in them. Was looking to delete one, which currently is not being allowed due to permissions.
For the sake of keeping things tidy - I would be happy to have the repetition purged by moderators.

Just edit over the extra post with "disregard" or the like.
I would be happy to have the repetition purged by moderators.
Mods don't delete posts unless they contain severe rule-breaking material. Just be more careful when posting from now on.
I'm not quite understanding, are you saying I need to show the cold side of SCP?
well, in many respects - yes.
My impression of the foundation is that it is a very functional body - the primary function is "protection".
Initially I thought that may extend to some of the SCP entities/artefacts/things in their "care".
However, looking more at things getting written in the "confines" of the SCP universe… it is seems to me that their motivations are to provide an unyielding blockade against humanity and the "horrors" that are out to get us and to give us an edge should these "unknown horrors" decide to go to war with us.
Someone once said "evil is banal". I have worked in places where, whilst not evil… their adherence to plans that ensure a greater profit really do get the moral compass thrown out of the nearest window.
On the back of this - would giving the entity a sedative and then putting into a vacuum chamber cause a quiet, panic free death. Thus negating it's effect on others?
Mischa Cel Frumos, please don't bump threads. That gets spammy, and is unfair to other authors who don't make unnecessary posts for attention.
Furthermore, draft threads with fewer threads get priority, so adding unnecessary bump posts will actually lower the visibility on your thread.
Frankly, I find this scip to be fairly over-powered, particularly with the immunity to amnesticisation. I vaguely understand the utility and risks of the scip, but this isn't presented clearly, primarily due to the lack of a more detailed description of its effects. Maybe this scip is very dangerous, but also incredibly useful, but I don't know. I have absolutely no idea what the radius of effect of the disease/cure, so I can't fully appreciate the double-edged sword idea you're going with, except for on a basic level.
Could you specify what effects needed more fleshing out exactly?
You didn't actually reply to my comment, but I'm assuming the question is directed at me.
Right now, the scip reads like this: woman causes people to get sick or cured of illness within a particular area, centered on the woman, at a particular rate and severity, all dependent on the woman's psyche. Now I have these questions:
- What is the maximum area of effect? Has the Foundation discovered this? What about the minimum?
- How quickly does this effect occur? How significantly is the speed affected by the woman's psyche?
- What exactly is meant by the severity of the effect? (this isn't particularly clear, at least not from what I would expect from a pseudo-scientific document)
- Can any of these effects be quantified? Because if so, it would go a long way to providing a clearer picture to the reader of the significance of this woman's anomalous properties.
Hopefully I expressed this concern more clearly.
