Don't look back in anger.
I heard her say.
Spoiler below.
Bethany and Elizabeth are the same person.
I'm still confused, how would I come to the conclusion that Bethany and Elizabeth are the same person?
For instance, the "BETH" syllable in both names.
and there were originally two people in the grave, but then one of them dug their way out. And when the grave was exhumed, the corpse that the Foundation discovered was male. So Bethany is out there somewhere. And she's immortal like Douglas is, except not permanently dying of multiple sclerosis.
And Douglas completely freaked out when he saw Elizabeth and Agent Cassidy. Yes, the report says that the freakout was because Douglas saw Agent Cassidy — but Elizabeth is the one wrote the report.
And then Elizabeth sentenced Douglas to being embedded in a block of lead, totally immobile and blind and deaf for all eternity. Just like what Douglas did to Bethany.
I remember reading this as a draft and not getting the twist and being particularly underwhelmed.
Then the twist helped the blocks fall into place, and really made the piece come together.
Overall its a really solid piece showing, yet again, that immortality sucks. This point is especially true when you can create enemies with nothing but time in which to plan your downfall.
+1 Cimmerian. Good show.
Slick. The interview dragged a bit, but you did a damn good job building up to that reveal.
I'm sure SCP-2566 wishes he'd found out about that ritual.
At first, I was unimpressed with another "immortal SCP that can't be harmed."
Then I realized what that facial reconstruction meant.
+1
This is the best thing I've read in a long time, no exaggeration. I love this. This is my new favorite skip.
It's a great presentation. My only beef is that it was awfully convenient to bury them in the same grave.
