EDIT: I didn't mean to title this 'one dude's fall'. :I
I want to play with the idea that one guy starts collecting a couple of SCPs on his own and fails to outrun or outsmart the Foundation (because no one does).
He'll be out of town and he'll send a letter to a friend. I need your help with a secret. These things I have need upkeep but I can't tell you more. I can't come into town so I need you to do it for me. (Creepy containment procedures). The letter is seized by the Foundation.
Next letter: I need help getting home. I can't remember the last few months. Last thing I remember is a couple of men in black leaving me in a motel bedroom.
Is this idea worth pursuing? Sending the letter puts the reader into the shoes of the man who's just about to be thrust into trying these absolutely creepy procedures and not knowing anything about the objects themselves - just knowing not what to do with them. Then the story ends, you know what happens to the one collecting them.
Any good for a tale? Give me your feedback. I wrote this up in a hurry so I hope it marginally makes sense.
