Statement: An article that involves you in juxtaposition with a rather annoying and seemingly innocuous neighborhood watch committee. This article should explore communal values.
Explanation: Essentially, a local committee forms up out of neighbors you "suppose" have been around and have been active members of the community fitting perhaps stereotypical, suburban personas. Simple, really boring people making simple, very boring rules. The instances communicate through a series of animalistic sounds, howls, and moans that sound like English to ordinary humans talking to them.
Gimmick: Eventually, meetings will occur.
The first has members turn on one another and report any perceived slight they have against one another. Instances contribute in this interaction and will speak as if they had always known the individual.
The second has members agree that starvation has become an issue in the community even if individuals have had no real dietary change since the first meeting. An instance will eventually start carving statements from the previous meeting into an unsuspecting member. All this goes on while another instance begins a conversation about how they cannot have "cheaters", they cannot have those who steal a disproportionate amount of meat from the community. All members begin consuming the marked individual. Pleasant conversations still occur between members and even the marked individual.
People leave happy, feeling full and more intune with one another in the group.
First and second meetings keep looping until the third meeting occurs.
The third meeting only occurs if a suitable amount of interbreeding has occurred between instances and communal members happens. A special discussion on how to raise children to not become delinquents occurs. During which words are regurgitated from the adults and rearranged into incomprehensible sentences. Children are taught how to hunt small animals, hunt prey in packs, lure in prey through distractions or deceit, and how to punish cheaters who don't give their fair share to the pack. These children will thenceforth exhibit feral personalities, cannibalistic tenancies, a desire to hurt small animals or feed on them raw, and extreme depression if ever away from the pack for too long. They are infertile and mentally deficient. They represent the end of a deficient genetic line and are seen as mutts by instances.
Once the community's population drops enough, there will be no discernible difference between instance and human as both begin to migrate elsewhere and restart this entire process all over again. Mutts that are left behind and 9 times out of 10 will commit suicide without their strong social group guiding them. They are usually eaten before the trip.
So, I've had this idea for a good week and wanted to implement it. I know it's very flimsy right now, so I'll accept any and all criticisms. I'm having a hard time really putting this down, researching where I should pickup content material from, etc.
