The point came up in the subreddit discussion on this that this article is about a person who has the apparent ability to flout the rules of spacetime and ends up using that ability to do something poorly considered and asinine. That's always been one of my main problems with AWCY and other pieces about obnoxious anartists. And, because this GoI exists in the same plane as AWCY, it's proving to be susceptible to the same problems.
This seems to me to be the point where GAW is becoming actively irritating. I had been waiting for the inevitable onslaught of "lol dank memes" and "omg you totally wrote [some generally topical thing discussed on the narrow portion of the Internet this community inhabits] as an SCP" articles that this GoI is encouraging, and this seems like the honest to God start of the deployment of that formula.
I notice that this makes use of the "it's supposed to be stupid" defense that gets trotted out for articles like these (a defense used previously for AWCY articles, as it happens). I've written previously on that topic, but I'll just restate for the record that I'm not really interested in stories about people who attain godlike powers somehow and then use them to do dumb shit. Having a chorus within the article lampshading that fact doesn't really help it for me. You can only wink at the audience so hard.
