So a few weeks ago I started my 3000 Contest draft with the intent to finish it this week. It essentially tells the story of a Foundation research who may be the only person unaffected by a rapidly spreading millenarianist meme that predicts the impending apocalypse, most (or perhaps all neither the reader nor the protagonist can be sure) of humanity commits suicide, leaving him alone, and then the predicted day passes without the predicted apocalypse (except in the ironically self-inflicted way that had already occurred). It was meant to deal with the fear of society, fear of irrationality, and fear of loneliness. It's about a third done.
Unfortunately Shaggydreadlocks' SCP-3000:When Day Breaks seems to be dealing with a lot of the same themes, and possibly has a similar narrative (I stopped reading when I realized the similarity to avoid contamination).
Should I complete this draft or is too similar to "When Day Breaks"?
