I will admit that, while reading this, I was heavily reminded of SCP-373 (a phonograph that will replace every fourth word in a song with that of a conversation). That being said, I like the idea of the SCP being a piece of modern technology, as I often find that to be creepier than old things with paranormal powers. You expect antiques to be old and mysterious, but newer technology; it just makes me think, "oh god, what have we created and where did it go wrong?"
One suggestion I would definitely make is to expand the ending. Where was the object found? How was it acquired by the Foundation? By answering these questions, you can give the reader's imaginations a bit more room to expand and fill in the blanks on their own. For example, pretend the object was found among the possessions of a missing song-writer/singer. This will lead the reader to wonder if their consciousness was taken over by the object or something.
Yeah, my current plan is to add a recovery log and expand the lyrical section. My thoughts are leaning towards something like a songwriter who went a bit crazy, with the SCP being found on him. I'm gonna work on it.
