This is something I came up with while on my way to work today.
- Subject class: Safe1
- An anomalous ad on the back of a specific bus plying the Makati-Taguig route in the Philippines
- The ad is comprised of a picture of a smiling woman placed alongside a five-by-five (5 x 5) word jumble box; the words "Hanapin ang Sigla" (Filipino for "Look for Enthusiasm") in bold can be seen at the top of the ad
- When a motorist finds the word "sigla" as prompted by the instructions on the ad, their eyes will begin rolling back into their head, a process that takes around 2.5 seconds, after which they disappear, leaving behind a pair of kidneys
- The anomaly was discovered when an unusually heavy traffic jam occurred along Ayala Avenue, prompting traffic enforcers to intervene; it was found out that the heavy traffic was caused by three vehicles blocking the northbound lane; the Foundation was alerted by a mole in the Makati city government, and proceeded to the scene; Class-A amnestics were administered to responding local government officers, passengers of the vehicles concerned (if any), and a number of passers-by attracted to the scene
- The bus was tracked soon after, and is currently at the custody of Site-XX
- Containment procedure(s): the bus is inside a Site-XX warehouse; the ad is covered by a tarpaulin secured by steel chains and two locks, the keys to which are in possession of two (2) Level 2 staff; except for research purposes, the locks and covering are not to be removed
- Partly due to repeated requests by the bus operator that at least the vehicle be returned to him (due to livelihood concerns), research is currently being done to ascertain whether it is the ad (which can be removed from the vehicle) that is anomalous, or the bus itself
- The confluence of tests and eyewitness accounts (previous to administration of amnestics) show that to trigger the anomaly, the following requirements must be met: (a) the bus must be in transit (i.e. traveling from Point A to Point B, even if stuck in heavy traffic in the meantime), (b) the person viewing the ad must be a motorist (i.e. behind the wheel of a motorized vehicle), (c) the vehicle driven by the motorist must also be in transit; (d) the motorist must find the word "sigla"
- To date, no other bus with the same ad exhibits the above anomaly
The premise is a bit eh, but if you guys think this is workable (or at least has the potential to be workable), I wish to run away with it. Your comments and suggestions will be much appreciated. Thank you!
