Wouldn't it be great if there was a Youtube channel out there where they act as a real life Foundation and discuss ways to contain monsters from movies and beyond? As in Godzilla, the Thing, the thing from It Follows, any monsters that will appear in the Universal Monsters Movies, Eleven from Stranger Things, the Badadook, Gremlins, It, things from Cloverfield, or any of the creepy stuff seen in the Twilight Zone? Those were just a few that were on my mind and some that I caught while browsing Netflix. But you know what I mean, right? They would examine and study the creatures from the film. Learn there movements, what they can do, there weaknesses etc. Then at the end of the video they make a comprehensive list of all that jazz and then write up a formal report, article, or log. They could even use audio from the movie put a static filter over it and make audio logs that will make it even more immersive. I would watch the crap out of that channel everyday and it would totally push me to watch scary movies even though I'm such a wimp that I don't want to. But what do you think? How would you contain Godzilla? How would you contain It? How would your report for One Punch Man be written out? And my final question: Wouldn't it be freaking awesome if such a channel existed?
I know this isn't exactly what you meant, but I think there should be an "SCP Foundation Beastiary". It would be like a normal beastiary, but every entry would be presented in the format of an SCP document.
For example, this is my entry of the "Bhainsasura" from Hindu myth. Tell me if I should post this on the drafts page. Yes, I am a sellout, aren't I?
Please collapse long posts. ~Zyn
I think it is poor form to enter a discussion to throw a poorly-written draft at another member with zero prompting.
To get back on track, I'm sure there are channels or at least videos like this if one looks hard enough.
Closest I've seen is the Super Powered Beatdown, where they take two (usually superhero) characters and discuss their strengths and weaknesses and how they'd fare in a fight with one another.
After all this, you're treated to a (surprisingly-well produced) live-action fight to the death between the two characters.
I tried finding such a channel but I haven't seen nothing like it yet. There was a video about the thing from "It Follows" on how to beat it in four different ways but that was just a 5 minute video. The ways to beat it are impressive but just doesn't seem it can really contain it.
And I don't like SPB. I know its good with production, views etc but it's nothing that interests. It's just two superheroes fighting each other. No monsters as far as I'd seen. That's it.
