Being an amateur historian, I really like this one. I like the fact that history is being written by the blood and ink of others. interesting idea.

I like this, mostly because it's a new idea, unlike anything we've got (as far as I know). Just a minor pedantic thing, the use of [DATA REDACTED] and [EXPUNGED] irks me slightly, seeing as the standard is [DATA EXPUNGED] and [REDACTED]. Sorry if I'm being overly fussy!
I'm not entirely sure it's necessary. This article was created 1214 days ago, as of my posting this comment.
Super necro here, but it's finally fixed to [REDACTED] and [DATA EXPUNGED].
There are no metaphors, only half-truths and good intentions.
That was unnecessary, as it's authorial choice, and has been reverted. Please do not make such changes in the future, Corinth.
Positively fascinating. It manages to take the notion of "rewriting history" in a frightening new direction without getting bogged down by messy paradoxical details. This is one I'd really like to see expanded upon in short fiction or other external documents.. there are a whole lot of possibilities here. Nice work.
I agree with the others that this is a really great concept, and you've written it well. I like the idea of the Foundation covering up history and the imminent threat presented. However, the civilization you describe feels way too "video-gamey" for my tastes. I mean, they're so evil it's almost comical.
You think so?
Look at the Aztecs- a society who conducted regular and destructive wars to obtain truly horrendous sacrifices which they believed absolutely necessary to keep the Gods strong. Look at the various atrocities of many ancient societies such as the druidic wicker man, or the ritual murder and institutionalized infanticide of the Spartans. Look at the Mongols, who flung plague-infected corpses into besieged cities and who leveled Baghdad so thoroughly it destroyed the basic infrastructure of irrigation allowing the Mesopatamian area to be fertile. Look at Tamerlane, who like his Mongol precedessors built pyramids of human skulls.
There were some ''very'' barbaric societies in the ancient world. This hypothetical civilization is simply different in that its bloody thaumaturgy actually works.
Even civilizations that we would deem good have their moments of inhumane acts. Consider why the Romans would need to add a word that means, "Kill one man out of every ten." Remember also the origins of the cross. Julius Caesar had his soldiers cut one of the hands off of the men who bore arms against them, so that they might live and serve as a reminder what it meant to go up against him…
Nothing really new under the sun, just the techniques are being refined.
Applause. I quite like this. Extra kudos for believable use of the "CK-class event" term.

Best new SCP I've read in quite a while. My only complaint is with Addendum 140e's use of "SCP-140-1" and "SCP-140-2" without defining whether those terms refer to people or things.
This had the perfect amount information given and withheld, and hinting at the possibility of rewriting history and the confirming it with the CK-class line made this one of my new favorites.
Applause.
