Yoric shows us how it's done. +1.
This is actually really similar to a creature I homebrewed for a D&D game I'm running, and it never even crossed my mind that something like it could be a decent SCP.

This SCP sounds familiar… Is there a South American myth that inspired it?
Well done. You have broken the chain of bad SCPs posted lately.

I would upvote this purely for Paprika Tuxedo
It's good, I like it, and it's upvoted, for most of the above reasons.
I like this, and would ordinarily upvote it, but the expungement in the containment procedures turned that around.
Honestly, you could probably remove the entire clause about the research without harming the article, and would reverse my downvote :)
I loved this part:
A focus in media coverage during the off season will be sensationalist stories designed to increase everyday paranoia and form habits in viewers conductive to personal safety.
I strongly wish this part wasn't blocked out as I want to know what this effect is called!
Victims of this effect (known as the R█████ effect, in honor of the late Doctor R█████)
I think this quote breaks the tone a bit and doesn't really fit in here (imo):
experience a strong sense that they are somehow protected; quote, "everything is perfectly fine. You're totally safe, and nothing bad can happen."
I feel like they wouldn't just cut off a word like this here but I didn't change it because it seems someone left it that way. (but I wanted to change it):
entering containme[THIS SECTION REMOVED BY ORDER OF O5-8].
I want to know more about this idea, because I like it:
If the SCP-820 swarm can be raised properly in containment, it may be helpful in preparing personnel for work with Keter level SCP objects.
All in all, upvote, but could use some tweaks imho.
