Erm, hello there. The name's Carna. (I'm usually known as Incarnadine, but that's been taken, so the shortened form will have to do - feel free to call me either/or).
I found this site quite a while ago, specifically an article on a teleporting manhole, but didn't understand what it was and left quite quickly. A couple of months later I stumbled across the beached ship that was larger inside than out, with accompanying creepy exploration logs, and somehow or other memory stirred… I got hold of the list, clicked a few links, and (much, much) later, realised I was hooked.
So, here I am. I've been lurking for a while, reading the list of SPCs in order, and when that ran out discovering the joys of the Foundation Tales and the 'Most Recently Created' page. Truth to tell you I was a little intimidated - you all seem so competent! - so I've put off joining until the tide of ideas rising in my brain became too much to bear. Plus until I'd read the 'Guide to Newbies' at least three times. I'll probably trial my ideas in the forum before posting them as full SPCs, I'm a little shy and I'd hate to do something wrong! I'm also probably going to need some help with the formatting and coding, I don't properly understand what all those buttons up there do yet - is there a page for that that I've missed?
In real life, I'm a student reading history, specifically witchcraft, folklore and religious beliefs in early modern Europe - yes, I study demonology for my degree. Yes, it is as awesome as it sounds. I also write a little bit (meaning a lot of small things that never get finished) mostly in the sci-fi, fantasy and horror genres, like I guess most of you do as well. I've been in charge of the overall plot of a large RP before, so I understand how it feels when someone comes and adds something that just doesn't fit!
Please excuse any minor spelling mistakes, I try my best but I have a speech impediment to do with pronounciation that occasionally finds its way into my written words as well. Feel free to correct me if my vowels go a-wandering.
