Hey, thanks for the story pimp. :) In other news, I like this version quite a bit. You've really refined this idea down. I'd still like a couple of examples slipped in ('Have you ever wondered what malevolence might exist in a paper clip?'), but that is a minor, minor complaint. Good job. +1

I still can't for the life of me figure where I'd work such a reference in without diverging from the flow and/or tone. I'm open to suggestions :P
why the repost? i upvoted this before, and will again gladly, but a bit odd….
I took it down shortly after I first posted it when Bland pointed out that I hadn't consulted Mann. It was an obvious consideration, so I was a bit sheepish at having overlooked it…
You don't have to. Characters on the site are free to use. If you use them poorly, the story will likely be downvoted, but they are free use, when using them on the site.

I'm not a moderator - I was under the impression from something a mod said that it was "highly encouraged" to get permission first.
I know the TOS and the Creative Commons allows it, but politeness would imply they be asked.
We're all writing in the same universe, we're going to be using the same characters to some degree. As logn as you're not doing something horribly out of character with them, it's no worries.

So when I first posted this, Mann pointed out that I was a bit off in my depiction of his in-universe character. Having been exposed to more tales since I first wrote this, I now have a better idea of what Mann is saying and have changed a couple of lines to compensate. Not huge, but hopefully a little less jarring for those of you with more experience around here.
