I think I like this - two question:
- Is the effect permanent?
- Need to say if it's CHEMICALLY different.
New Member Info
Yes, the effect is permanent. This is why affected civies are recruited.
No, it's not chemically different. It just looks, feels and smells like blood. In every other aspect it's still normal.
"Non-visual, olfactory or tactile examination will show the original fluid. " was meant to make that clear, but I'll have a look if I can improve the wording on that.
"not chemically different" + "smells like blood" + "coagulates like blood"
What do you think "smell" is, buddy?
The coagulation is a good point, I'll have to elaborate on that. As for the smell, well.
This is an SCP, I ain't gotta explain that shit.
EDIT: I tweaked that bit slightly, should be better now.
What do you think "smell" is, buddy?
A perception that is, in this case, incorrect.
so it's psychic gum? Hallucinatory gum?
Also, this is a runaway replicator. If you keep twisting the gear, you can produce a million billion tons of magic SCP gum.
Ech, that's just…nasty. +1 upvote from me and you've probably ruined gumball machines for me for awhile.
Also - offsite images are not good. Other sites can change.
If you need help uploading the image, feel free to ask.
Bullshit. People can host their files where ever they want to.

MOD CAVEAT: Wherever they want to except imageshack. Imageshack links expire after 45 days.
Clarification: It's okay as long as they're hosting them somewhere, and not just hotlinking off a random site?
Is that a fair assessment? I ask because the last few broken links I've seen are hotlinks.
(Edit: First part was a question, not a statement.)
If you look at it, smell it or poke it, the result is blood. Do anything else and the result is the original fluid. I'm not sure how to reword that one, open to suggestions.
So, like, if you use equipment to analyze it, or you listen to it?
… or if you taste it?
Piffy is an SCP Foundation Moderator, Lv. 9001 Squishy Wizard, and Knight of the Red Pen.
If this was temporary Wacky Foundation Hijinks (tm) would involve at least one case of someone taking one of these and then puking "blood" all over someone's desk or something.
"Any civilians affected by SCP-942-1 are to be recruited into the foundation as level 1 or D-Class personnel as appropriate."
We don't use people affected by SCPs as D-class, due to the possibility of cross-contamination.
And honestly, using them as level 1 personnel seems way too risky.
Hmm, cross contamination is something I hadn't though of, I'll take it into consideration when I next get round to editing it.
Civilians contaminated be an SCP would typically be 'contained' or 'disposed,' depending on circumstances.
One thing even I have trouble remembering sometimes is that the Foundation does not, CAN NOT, care about individuals.
Remember SCP-231. The Foundation is doing horrible, terrible, [DATA EXPUNGED] things to a pre-teen girl daily, in order to prevent an end-of-the-world scenario. The Foundation works to protect Humanity, regardless of the number of Humans they need to kill to do so.
All of these efforts are ultimately doomed, but they must continue, to fight for one more breath for Humanity, and one more, and one more…. until someone finally slips up and the next breath is Humanity's last.
Side note: Where did you get the idea 231 was pre-teen? If it's based on the name of the organization ("Children of the Scarlet King") that's just a name…
"SCP-231-7 is a ██████ female between █ and ██ years of age"
note that the bottom limit of her age is a single character.
Ah! It's why I often phrase things in the form of a question. I am often mistaken.
Voct sees it the same way I do. Even at the max value for minimum age, you have someone who looks like a 9 year old. It's hard to find an 18 year old person who could still 'pass' for 9.
I'm reminded of the old saying of not fighting too long with dragons, lest ye become a dragon yourself. I find it hard very likely that none of the 'senior staff' even REMEMBER their humanity, whether it's Dr. Bright stuck inside the Imortality medallion, Dr. Gears unable to feel ANY emotions after dealing with the horrors, or Dr. Alto Clef and his 'sinister' demeanor; the Foundation has monsters guarding other monsters, all to keep the ignorant sheep happy and ignorant of the horrors behind every corner, every shadow…
Not bad, but needs editing for grammar issues. I'd have done it myself, but Wikidot is giving me a weird error when I try to edit the page… Something about me having saved a draft or something…
