I'm new to the community, but nonetheless I've already written an SCP. I know this is somewhat discouraged in the "Guide to Newbies", but inspiration caught me while I was reading material from the site, and inspiration is hard to restrain.
If you won't bother reading the draft, the idea is the following: someone sends a couple of objects to the Foundation, along with a mocking letter. The first item is a genuine, reality-warping SCP. The second one… well, it can't be told: the letter states that, if anything is tried on the device, it will bring Universe to an end! How will the Foundation deal with the situation? Ignore the threat? Spend a load of money to contain the (possibly harmless) thing? Who is the mysterious sender?
Here is the draft: draft1032
I think my work may have the following problems:
1) English. I'm not a native English speaker. I've tried to be as accurate as I could, but I don't know if I succeeded.
2) The Containment procedures section may be too long/boring.
3) Scientific and technological accuracy: I don't know if many of the things I put in the SCP (the fully automatic power plants, their power outputs, the make of the vault) make sense or not. I've tried to get a rough idea on Wikipedia, but I still can't be sure.
4) Item 7 of the "Overdone SCP ideas" tells to avoid things that use up excessive resources. However, this is necessary for my SCP to be an annoying disruption.
Of course, the idea itself may be just stupid or bland. Please tell me what you think. Thank you in advance.
