Hello! A friend linked me to SCP-055 about a week ago, and I was intrigued enough to click "Random SCP." And here we are.
Why I joined: I like writing, and I was fairly good at it last time I exercised those muscles. Which was about two years ago. So I'm probably pretty awful at writing. But hopefully, this site will let me become less so, and eventually I'll metamorphose into a beautiful butterfly.
I've read the newbie guides, and will obey the laws laid down therein. I've also lurked in the chat for a day or two, surfacing long enough to get asked the standard questions (whose answers were, respectively, "link from a friend," "yes," and "SCP-439"). Then I severed my IRC connection by accident.
Is that it? Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom that didn't make it into the newbie required reading list?
(Oh, and also: I have a couple SCP ideas floating around in my head. What's standard procedure for those? Write up rough drafts and post a link to my sandbox in the Advice and Ideas forum? Or do I just describe them and let people with more experience judge whether they have any potential?)
