Hey all, I'm gonna list out a few ideas I've had developing in my head over the past few weeks for my next swing at writing a SCP, would love to hear your opinions on them, no matter how painful they might be =)
1. SCP based upon Anorexia, specifically upon the "Letters to Ana" that people write, where they delude themselves into believing that this "Ana" does exist and is constantly, watching/judging them, exhorting them. Will most likely base it upon the idea that Ana does indeed exist and is being contained by the Foundation (probably won't be a humanoid SCP as that won't be well-recieved). The fear in the report is that the letters to Ana still persist, somehow, even though she is contained, and the Foundation is afraid of what might happen if she breaches containment. [http://anabones.wetpaint.com/page/letter+to+ANA] - Example of an Ana letter.
[Edit]: For No. 1, I've decided that I would like Ana to be a simple hand-mirror, like a girl's make-up mirror, with ornate gold handle and sides, with the words "Ana" carved into it. NO it's not gonna be something about changing the reflection or something coming out of it etc, I know that's way too cliched. It's gonna be a TOTALLY normal mirror, no psychic compulsions etc. It's just that somehow, the letters keep getting mailed to it, no matter where it's located. Also considering a tendency of those suffering from Anorexia to actually want to protect this mirror, not from any forced mind control, but more of protecting a friend/mentor.
And I'll add a small log at the back of it detailing how one researcher whose daughter was suffering from a serious case of Anorexia decided to try and destroy the mirror (although destroying the mirror may or may not stop the tendencies, I don't think it will and NO it is not indestructable), but was instead stopped, murdered by his daughter, who was trying to defend her friend, "Ana". The log is a new idea.
2. SCP taking the form of a cloud, whereby anything that is under its shadow is erased, darkening to the same level of darkness as the darkest point of the shadow (the umbra). The cloud is, as far as it is known, not sentient, and seems to be a normal cloud, except for its destructive capacity. It is capable of movement as far as wind currents would allow it to. It was found hanging over a church in post-war germany, a church which was taken over and re-established by the Nazi Faith (Pagan) Movement, whereupon the retrieval team managed to burst in before the cloud's effects took over to find a group of [DATA REDACTED](Probably early GOC). Not sure if I should include that last portion.
Well, here they are. Any comments, criticisms etc. are welcome, as are any suggestions for improvement. Feel free to destroy me/my ideas, better now than if I actually go ahead and write them. Would love to know which one I would be recommended to do.
P.S. Also, have been considering writing a Foundation Tale about the Foundation being infiltrated by an Insurgency agent under the guise of a SCP. That one's still a really basic idea.
