I just got my new computer yesterday. Wondering what I missed, I decide to check up on SCP. Lo and behold, I discover that we are translating our website into Chinese. Any guesses as to when the ban hammer comes down on our SCP-China site?
The Chinese site is not directly affiliated with us, although we have communicated. As for when will China ban their site, who knows.
As long as there is no SCP about Tiananmen Square you should be fine.
…Nevermind, I just said it. It'll probably be banned now. :(
YOU BLING UP TIANANMEN SQUARE?
DING DONG BANNU
I doubt it'll ever happen. I mean, we haven't insulted them or their food in anyway, right? Right?
It's not when, but if and as long as politics are kept out of here, it won't happen.
China doesn't censor only political materials, but also things they deem "corrupt public morals." Displaying images of dead bodies is more taboo in China compared to the West, where its already considered poor taste. This extends to ghosts, zombies, etc.
Well If the people doing this are chinese, and therefore know what would be taboo, they probably have it covered.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
I've written a tale upvoted by Djoric, Bright, Echo, Yoric, Moose, VAE and Voct, fite me irl if you don't respect
To be honest I don't think that's gonna happen. Even if it happens, they can still access the Foundation webpage via proxy or other means (e.g. software that allows you to go past the great firewall of China).
