I'm posting this thread to officially introduce myself to the community even though I've been reading SCPs since the most recent summer and almost posted my own in relation to a potential school project, which resulted in both ideas getting scrapped. Recently, I've been interested in writing an SCP for the site and would enjoy any heavy criticism on some of my raw ideas before I write about some absurd object/anomaly.
Some kind of door that opens up into… (My only fear of going through with this idea is that it looks a lot like one of the cliches listed.)
- Some iteration of Earth that contains no life other than plant life
- A seemingly random location near a dense forest (carbon dioxide is as prominent in this location as oxygen is in ours)
An odd statuette of a spiral that, when analyzed further, seems to spiral infinitely inward. (Very raw and I'm not sure I can create anything interesting out of that. Maybe there will be some sort of message inscribed on the spiral that is partially unreadable due to the lack of powerful enough tools to observe the text.)
Something to do with a Serpinski carpet or a Menger sponge.
