The SCP Foundation

(if there's a thread for horror movies or TV or something that this should be moved to, sorry, just point me the way)

Question: Am I a) the only one who saw this and was thinking "Containment Breach: The Movie" or b) one of many people who have already pointed this out or c) just wrong and now you're going to explain why…?

Because my brain was basically inserting SCP lingo into the dialogue the whole freaking time.

Haven't seen it, but reading the description, this is the first thing it made me think of.

Though I'd like to hope we wouldn't fail so badly. I mean, people haven't failed that badly at killing five teenagers since Rita Repulsa.
Otherwise, the way the technicians act sounds positively Foundation-like.

I saw this and will add my voice to the chorus. This movie is bananas, ladies and gentleman. See it.

Having now seen the movie, I can't really think of this as SCP - The Movie, but it's the closest I expect to see within my lifetime.

Also, even before having read your spoiler tab, some part of my brain pegged her as O5-4 for no particular reason.

It was meta-horror + homage + Joss Whedon + Lovecraft, and it damn well made for entertaining viewing. Definitely the closest thing to SCP I've seen, but still a long way from the true idea of the Foundation.

I saw it yesterday and had to restrain myself from screaming in anger during the last third/quarter; I was rooting for the "bad guys" all along, but there was a point where I went from movie watcher to Foundation member.

I enjoyed it, but there were bits like you mentioned that made me think "YOUR CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES ARE LACKING".

Good god, yes. All I can say is they deserved everything that happened to them near the end for being so ridiculously idiotic.

After just watching it I must agree that the complete lack of protocols and proper containment procedures was a bit of a buzz kill, there I was loving the movie and then *BLAM* every monster is released and there's like 30 armed soldiers to try and stop them? Why was there even a great big 'release every monster into the complex' button?

As an aside I think Weaver gives the best line in the entire movie:

"You can die with them, or you can die for them."

That should be in the training for the MTF teams and Agents when they get recruited.

The movie released yesterday in my country, and as soon it started i had the feeling to seeings something like "SCP - The Movie"… although yeah, i wouldn't keep any of those monsters without a proper countermeasure, at the very least a "nuke all" button.

I would be surprised if the director or the screenwriter hadn't ever saw the SCP Project website. Too many coincidences.
