Ever since clicking on SCP 106 i've held my hand up to my computer screen to where the picture usually pops up, whenever i'm clicking on an SCP article i've never seen before. That face scares the crap out of me
106 upper picture isn't bad at all.
What's bad is the one of what it did to the agent. I… have a thing with empty eyesockets of odd/huge eyes (ugh, the first time I seen Jeff the Killer. Ugh.)
Well… I never cover the screen up - that and the fact that I browse some creepypasta sites for SCP fuel, and do odd googles means i have built up quite some resistance to nasty imagery.
I haven't even read the article behind 106, I can't stay on the page that long it creeps me out so much. I'll take your word on the lower picture.
I usually have a high tolerance for scary pictures but that photo, man…
Jeff the Killer's picture is creepy and all, but was it just me, or was the story really, really bad?
Well, I used to think he was creepy as hell. Then I read the story, and now I realize it's actually quite awful. The pictures don't even creep me out in the slightest anymore.
So no. It's not just you.
If the picture is one like 106, or the tooth fairies, I try not to look at while reading and then scroll down so that the picture on the article is obscured as quickly as I can. There are some pictures that just freak me the hell out.
Also, if you like 106, you'll love this.
eeeyuck. creepy. that picture of the pinata-esque SCP that moves and kills you when you aren't looking at it is scary as all hell, too. Totally blanking on the number, though.
Tooth fairies make me want to vomit. My weakness is teeth, if you haven't figured it out by now.
106's picture scared the crap out of me the first time, but after a while you sort of get used to it. I'd really like to know the original source for that image, though.
I can't think of any other SCPs where the image alone is horrifying (maybe 087, but again, that's something that gets less scary over time). Then again, I haven't read them all…
It's the same thing for me, but with SCP-610 instead.
I also did the image covering trick in the beginning, and yes, it was mainly with 106… but I also did it for 1003 (Tapeworm Child). For a while after that, I kept observing the picture before anything else in the article, to see if I need to cover it up… with the risk that my palm gets eaten or worse.
No. when I find a picture unpleasant I have a tendency to stare at it long and hard. A terrible tactic sure but I certainly no longer fear it once I'm done analyzing the shit out of it.
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
I took one look at SCP 106's picture, went "Eff that for a game of soldiers." and clicked back. I had to block to picture before I could read it… Which was about a month after I found this site.
I hate creepy pictures; words are fine, since I can simply stop myself from imagining it. But pictures I kind of have to see; they're less ambiguous and stay in my mind for longer.
