I don't know how to vote on this one. Tone is alright and the concept is interesting, but the effects just feel too "predictable" as it goes on, there's sudden use of non-metric units at the end, and it's a pretty basic "memories of a traumatic event imprinted on an object" story like the ones I heard all the time on haunted house "documentaries" when I was a kid. Page 133 seems to describe knocking someone out with a chloroform-soaked rag, which really only works that way on TV - in real life, you're more liable to either do nothing at all, or kill the person.
No vote for now - I don't like it, and I don't hate it.
Thanks for catching the non-metric thing, fixed now. Fair enough on the other points; I'll think on the predictability of this and see if I can't do something to punch it up in the morning. Thanks for the feedback.
So you think scratch-and-sniff is pretty neat, huh? Well, try this.
I particularly like the note at the end. "We understand it, now quit traumatizing test subjects with it! …it mucks up the results for the gibbering-horror-what-crazies-you-to-death tests."
This article has been placed up for review, please come look. It needs more attention.
Like others in the discussion, I feel it's too predictable. I was waiting for a curveball that never came.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
