Hi everyone. Found a link to this site on another forum and found it really interesting from the start. When I realized this was a creative writing website, I just had to be a part of it. Is there anything I should know up front that I didn't read in the newbie rules?
Hello! Firstly, which forum are you coming from? Secondly, the biggest piece of advice I can offer is write an SCP entry and post it in the sandbox. Let folks give you advice. be prepared for some fairly harsh criticism. Some of the folks who give feedback may seem to lack tact, but they more than make up for this bluntness in sound advice. I posted several entries that I thought were magnificent, only to have them go down in flames (usually fairly rapidly). It helps to have a thick skin and realize that criticism of your article is not a personal attack.
If you listen to the input, and pay attention to the advice you are given by the old pros, you will create a quality entry that you will be proud of. It took me a while, but I finally got an article that was positively rated and not deleted. Just remember that even seasoned pros end up still writing things that get deleted. Practice and listening to advice are your best allies.
It was fantasy faceoff. Kinda self explanatory we pitted different fictional characters against eachother. One of us stumble upon SCP and we featured a couple SCP's in some matchups. How do I find the snadbox then, I don't see nay links on the main page?
