Good to be here. A few words on how seem appropriate. I stumbled across SCP-173 somewhere some time ago, like probably many of us. I found it really interesting but left it that. At some point later 173 popped up somewhere else and I decided to look it up and realised that 'holy poop, there's a whole bunch of these'. I've been pretty obsessively reading these up and lurking the site since and my hat is off to all you brilliant minds coming up with these little stories! I now decided to join the community in celebration of the ending of Reneissance Fair.
I'm not that much of a writer myself and haven't really written any lenghty texts in English for a long time (I'm not a native speaker, so my apologies for the broken English that's bound to go down at some point). That being said, I'm not planning on contributing in the form of text any time soon. As for personal details, I'm close to my thirties (yup, getting old) and hailing from Helsinki, Finland. Although I might not be here to write, I do have some other skills I thought could be put to good use for the Foundation. I'm currently working as a product designer, but my background is in graphic design and Photoshop is no stranger to me. I do believe there has to be of this type of talent in the community as well and the writers should have some illustrators around to give a hand too. Many articles could benefit from it.
Here are a couple of images I did quickly for just my own amusement. Sorry the latter two are a bit similar, I seem to be obsessed with the notion that security cameras never work properly.
If you are looking for an image to suit your SCP, or feel yours is missing one, hit me up. Maybe we can come up with something.
Some say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I believe a picture should never substitute a thousand words. A good picture will simply help set the tone. I guess that's enough of my rambling.
