Greetings everyone! Thanks for having me.
To be honest, I am not entirely certain what to expect of the members community. I was quite impressed by the strict application requirements and the large and seemingly committed team of peace keepers. I had been enjoying some of the SCPs before I considered applying of course, but it were these two observations that made me really exited and instantly sparked ideas for my own SCPs.
About myself, I am a third year philosophy student in Utrecht, which is in the Netherlands. I've taken up writing fiction and (as they call it) continental philosophy this last year and have been thoroughly enjoying myself. There's always been a special place for any form of fiction in my life, be it pen and paper RPGs, drawing, writing, etc. It's all about the other worlds.
This site seemed like the perfect place to work on my writing with some people prepared to dish out valuable feedback. I must admit that I can't quite predict how committed I can be or how frequently I will visit. I have quite a busy life and the time to do the recently increased amount of artistic activity seems to have been stolen from my low-payed temp job, indirectly attacking my wallet. I'm enthusiastic though, so I hope to contribute.
My first contribution will probably just be criticism, which I should be fairly decent at considering my philosophical background (so I hope that shows). I do know my place, so I might slowly start working out some SCPs, but there's no hurry (and as I said, I can't really afford to put too much pressure on myself in the first place).
That's the gist of me. I hope to be speaking to some of you soon, because you're a large part of the reason I came here. (The other simply being the SCPs themselves, which in turn are written by you, so you might say you all are the sole reason.)
