An idea for a Group of Interest, which I'm dubbing "the Fixers" as a place-holder name:
There's a group of researchers whose analyses of anomalies has lead them to the conclusion that reality itself is broken. This gives rise in them feelings of existential dread/fear. That reality is broken is wrong. That reality is broken should not be. But rather than wallow in their fear or be nihilistic about it, they're going to do something about it. The group has the same knowledge as the Factory or Dr. Wondertainment on how to create new SCPs. They're constantly experimenting by creating new SCPs, both to expand/refine their knowledge of creating SCPs, and to expand their knowledge of how reality is broken. Their ultimate goal is to create an SCP (or set of SCPs) which, when activated, will alter the nature of reality itself so that reality is no longer broken. Doing this might require temporarily making reality more broken, but it would only be temporary, so no big deal. Fixing reality might kill billions of people, might destroy the Earth, or might even destroy the local galaxy, but hey, there must be other life out there in the universe, and that life will be better off when reality is normal.
It's likely that the Fixers aren't entirely sane.
My difficulty is in translating this into an SCP. I'm trying to come up with SCPs ideas where you could look at them and say "Yep, I can see how a group investigating the process of creating anomalies and/or investigating what lets anomalies exist in the first place would purposefully or accidentally create something like that", but I'm mainly drawing blanks. What I've come up with so far is:
Anomaly displacement zone: One of the Fixer's attempts to fix reality on a tiny, tiny scale, it's a device meant to suppress any anomaly within a 10m radius, but what it does is detach the anomaly from its current location/item and displace it to some random location/item elsewhere on the Earth. However, that's not a very interesting SCP.
Anomaly exclusion zone: Another tiny scale attempt at fixing reality, this device puts up a 10m radius zone which prevents the entry of any anomaly. However, weird stuff starts happening outside the zone, and both the weird-stuff radius and weird-stuff intensity expands at geometric rates as long as the device is left on. Also not that interesting, in my opinion.
Autonomous anomaly seeking device: The Fixers, besides making their own SCPs, want to study other SCPs, and thus need to get their hands on these other SCPs before the Foundation/GOC/etc. So they made a device which goes out looking for anomalies. Unfortunately, it has a high false-positive rate, and also makes both its presence and anomalous nature blatantly obvious to any civilians nearby. Again, not that interesting.
