I've got an idea, not content to post an idea alone I've written up the core of it. I've not really written anything like this so any help or advice will be appreciated, but really all I'm looking for is the general consensus of if this is worth finishing: http://sandbox.scp-wiki.net/missritter
First things first.
Every time I see a sandbox article that's half-written (no, the Experiment Log is NOT optional when you reference it in the Description), it makes me want to take a nap in SCP-173's room. Please finish that.
Other than that, you have quite a few tone issues that you should iron out, and the idea needs some work and a hook.
The only thing that stood out to my tired brain was this little sentence at the end there.
Subjects afflicted with this Hypochondriasis will decline in lucidity, leading to paradoxical undressing, terminal burrowing and stress-induced cardiac arrest.
It appears to be someone overdoing the "Clinical" aspect by inserting bulk amounts of "Billion dollar" words into the article, regardless of if they make sense in the context of the sentence or not. It's okay to state things blandly, I've read scientific reports that a 1st grader could read and comprehend.
I agree you've got a serious case of thesaurusitis going on in that last paragraph of the description, but I'd be interested in seeing more about it, so I'd encourage you to write up the logs. (Take with grain of salt as I'm a newbie and haven't read every SCP yet, so I don't know if anything similar already exists. I think it's interesting, though.)
Does that bit in the addendum mean the chair was constructed in 1701 or thereabouts? Because that's not the Victorian Era, it just seems like it could have been worded more clearly, or was that the part of the air of mystery, a chair of style made almost 200 years before the style itself emerged? Also, no nation banned slavery in the year 1701.
