I go by Matthias Bandon for reasons unlikely to become clear. I'm just another annoyingly wide-eyed optimist fresh out of university making my way in the world… At least I was until one nights Google search lead me to the SCP Wiki (I don't know if you've heard of it) and my productivity has been seemingly permanently derailed ever since as browsing any but the simplest entries creates a tab explosion in my browser that takes hours to recover from, and each tab has a tendency to introduce another 15 pages I'll need to browse.
It started the way I imagine most find their way here, references to a certain statue with a penchant for overly aggressive hugs and an aversion to eye contact. I think it was a Minecraft mod demo video that finally pushed me over the edge to say, "Fine, I'll google this damn SCP-173 thingy!" A month later I'm still working my way through the Top Rated list so I think it's fair to say that I've got the bug.
A bit more about me, I grew up in New England, and currently live and work in New York City. I was a film engineering major in university spawned from a dual interest in film-making and imaging science, so I like to pretend I have some experience with both (the diploma that refuses to stay on my wall lends some validity to this delusion.) I'm a fairly avid Sci-Fi/comedy reader, due to an accidental assimilation of the entire Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series during one summer.
I look forward to eventually being able to remember more than 5 or 6 SCPs by number alone so I don't have to read the first paragraph of Able's page for the 7 billionth time. I also hope to make a few contributions of my own that don't immediately fall into a black hole of down-votes.
In conclusion, Hi.
