I have an idea for an artifact that has been in Foundation custody for a long time, but only recently has its true nature been uncovered.
I don't know if this has been done already, I've only read about 300 articles so far.
Initially it was thought to be a sphere with unlimited reality bending abilities, classed as keter.
Recent advances in high speed digital photography, and other related technologies however, have shown what it really is.
It does look like a sphere to the naked eye, but when photographed you see that it is actually made up of dozens of small octagonal coins orbiting a central mass.
The coins have markings present on their exposed surface.
The object does not possess reality bending abilities, instead the markings on the coins cause a viewer to hallucinate and they perceive the illusions as real.
Initially it was thought the object was sentient, and had not escaped from its holding area because it wanted to be where it was, now it is understood that it actually can't leave.
It's sentience is under review.
Any advice or feedback would be much appreciated.
